Welcome to puddle diving

Welcome to Puddle Diving, our new blog targeted at helping current and former athletes successfully manage the transition out of competitive sport.  We aim for short posts multiple times a week to get you thinking and taking action as you prepare for and make the move beyond your competitive playing career.

Growing up one of my favorite games on a rainy, wet day was what we called “running bases.”  We would have two bases set up in the yard where it was plenty wet.  One person would stand by each base and throw a tennis ball back and forth waiting for the third person to try to run and slide and get to the next base before being tagged out.  The runner would get a point for each base they got to safely, and we would rotate people once the runner was tagged out.  I am not even sure we really cared about the score as the fun of the game was diving and sliding through the mud puddles.

What from your past brings you joy or inspires you?  What can you take from that for your future?
