Bokoblins and Baseball

Our son is not the sports fanatic that I was becoming at his age.  That is ok.  We all have different interests.  Instead, I take joy in his excitement and energy around his interests.  Even after beating the original Zelda decades ago, I would not have known one could get so excited over defeating a Bokoblin or learning to back flip in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I see his depth of knowledge and energy grow as the game drives him to watch tutorials and frequently talk about it with friends. Then, when the opportunity comes about like bonding over watching He-Man together or taking batting practice together, I can embrace those moments all the more.

Interests help us connect both with others and with ourselves.  They can play an important role in guiding your decision making, discovering new vocations, and strengthening your relationships and network.  What interests (big or small, mainstream or kooky) do you have outside playing sports?  Who have you shared them with? Is there one of them that may be a string to pull to lead you in the next adventure of your life?
